Abstract:
PURPOSE: To permit a person on a seat mechanism to take a nearly-standing posture as far as in the degree of freedom in movement by providing it with a seat supported on a single leg having a leg pad with a convex annular lower surface, coupling a support structure to the lower portion of the leg, and arranging two rollers in the rear portion of the structure. CONSTITUTION: A single leg 1' constituted of two members projects from a base pad 1 with a convex curved lower surface. A beam 2 projects from the leg 1' on both sides horizontally, which is coupled at right angles to another beam 2' projecting both backward and forward beyond a seat 10. The beam 2' is provided at its rear end with a roller or caster 4 and at its position near to the leg 1' with a larger-diameter wheel 6. The leg 1' supports the seat 10 on its upper portion 7. The leg 1' is mounted with a crossbeam 11 on the upper portion 7 just under the seat 10 to thereby support an armrest 9. The user is required to sit on the seat 10 facing the direction of a belly support 12 of a belt constituted of two halves.
