Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress erroneous detection with respect to the presence/absence of disconnection of a battery cell from parallel connection, in a disconnection detection system for a secondary battery in which a plurality of battery cells are connected in parallel.SOLUTION: A disconnection detection system 10 for a secondary battery including a cell block including a plurality of battery cells 30 connected in parallel comprises a disconnection detection unit 68 for detecting disconnection of the plurality of battery cells 30 in the cell block, using a resistance method. The disconnection detection system also calculates a salt concentration distribution between positive and negative electrodes of a battery cell 30, calculates a salt concentration difference in the salt concentration distribution, and takes, as a determination salt concentration difference, a salt concentration difference at which an increase in resistance becomes equal to or larger than a predetermined value in a characteristic in which resistance of a battery cell increases as a salt concentration difference increases. The disconnection detection system further comprises a disconnection detection permission unit 66 that determines whether or not a calculated salt concentration difference is larger than the determination salt concentration difference, permits disconnection detection by the disconnection detection unit 68 when the determination is affirmative, and inhibits the disconnection detection by the disconnection detection unit 68 when the determination is negative.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
