Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that a gas exhaust valve is cleaved safely and surely.SOLUTION: Regions D1, D2, S1, and S2 are formed like a convex-shaped curved surface smoothly protruding toward the outside. When heat is generated by shorting, etc., causing an electrolyte to evaporate, the internal pressure p of a case 1 rises, pushing the regions outward (pressing force indicated by FP). In an inside concave part 11 is a tensile stress σ generated in a direction along the inclination of an inner peripheral edge part of the regions, the stress giving rise to a cleavage force FT in the inside concave part 11. In other words, the construction that the regions D1, D2, S1, and S2 are formed to have a convex-shaped curved surface on the outside thereof gives rise to stresses in a direction to cleave the inside concave part 11, producing a cleavage force as the sum total of those stresses.
