To provide a secondary cell and a method for manufacturing the cell which, hermetically ensuring the interior of the cell casing, allow inexpensive and simple manufacturing.

The cell is provided with: an aluminum casing 11 in which an electrolyte, positive electrode plates 12 and negative electrode plates 13 are contained; an aluminum lid 15 which fits the casing 11 so as to shelter the inside of the casing 11 from the outside thereof, on which a positive electrode terminal 16 and a negative electrode terminal 17 connecting respectively to the positive and negative electrode plates 12 13 are mounted, and which has a leak-hole 15a connecting the inside and the outside of the casing 11; and an aluminum sealing sheet 18 between the lid 15 and the casing 11, covering the leak-hole 15a.
