Abstract:
PURPOSE:To read accurately a sector address by detecting the sector address based on a gap position when the linear speed of a storage medium is not stable and then detecting a sector address based on the time point when the previous sector address is detected in case said linear speed is stable. CONSTITUTION:An address detecting circuit 1 extracts the address detecting signal (sector address signal) S7 and the address data D7 out of the read data SO obtained by reading out a storage medium having gaps among sectors. While a frame length counter 2 produces the 2nd sampling section signal S8 and the detection enable signal S6 based on the signal S7 delivered from the circuit 1. The circuit 1 consists of a gap detecting circuit 15, a gap mono-multi circuit 16 which holds the gap detecting signal S1 for a fixed period, a sample clock extracting circuit 17, a clock counter circuit 18, a multiplexer 19 and an address detecting part 20.
