Title:
SELECTION OF CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02186265
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable selection of desired and undesired cells efficiently in a short time by irradiating an undesired cell dyed with a fluorescent pigment with a concentrated light beam with a wavelength high in an absorption ratio of the fluorescent pigment.

CONSTITUTION: When a sample 5 wherein an undesired cell dyed by a fluorescent pigment is mixed with a desired cell that will not be dyed or will be only dyed slightly by the fluorescent as it is pigment is irradiated with a concentrated light beam 2 with a wavelength high in absorption ratio with respect to absorption characteristic of the fluorescent pigment, the desired cells allows the transmission of most of energy of the concentrated light beam 2 through transparent ones. On the other hand, the undesired cells are damaged and exterminated as the fluorescent pigment dyeing them absorbs the energy of the concentrated light beam 2.
