PURPOSE: To provide a selective call receiver with display for simplifying transmission and shortening radio wave occupation time.

CONSTITUTION: The selective call receiver with display is provided with a radio part 4 for receiving and demodulating a radio signal transmitted from a base station, decoder part 6 for comparing and collating the demodulated signal from the radio part 4 with it's own call number, display part 9 for displaying a demodulated information signal, and information storage part 7 for storing routine sentences consisting of a previously decided word group and those routine sentence numbers, and equipped with functions for reading a word corresponding to a number provided by the information signal from the storage part 7 and for displaying the read word on the display part 9. Inside the storage part 7, the words of different contents are provided corresponding to the transmitting positions of numbers in the information signals and according to the transmitting position of the number, that word is displayed on the display part 9.
