Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an information recording and reproducing device which can connect to plural host systems in which allowable parameters are different from each other.
CONSTITUTION: An information recording and reproducing device is provided with a starting parameter table recorded in a ROM 34, and a switching means 13 selecting externally a desired starting parameter out of this parameter, being connected to a host system, performs writing and reading a signal. Since the starting parameter selected by the switching means 13 is sent out to the host system base on a request of the host system, a parameter adaptable to the host system can be sent out, and the device can be connected to plural host systems in which allowable parameters are different.
