Title:
SEMI-SUBMERSIBLE OFFSHORE STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6397486
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable alleviating rolling and pitching due to sea waves even at rough sea by forming the column of a semi-submersible body in such a way as to be freely adjustable telescopically and enabling a float to be located deep in sea water. CONSTITUTION:A column connecting a float 1 to a deck 3 is so formed as to have a double cylindrical structure. A primary cylindrical body 4 of predetermined length and shape is erected in the float 1 and a secondary cylindrical body 5 coupled to the outside of the primary cylindrical body 4 and having approximately the same length as said body 4 is fixed to the deck 3. One end of a rope 6 is fixed to the upper end of the primary cylindrical body 4 and the rope 6 is wound about a winch 8 on the deck 3. A ballast tank 11 is provided in the float 1 and water filling to and water discharging from the ballast tank 11 can be freely done via a ballasting/de-ballasting mechanism. Deck height can be freely adjusted by changing column length whether necessary.
