Title:
SENSOR FITTING STRUCTURE OF AIR BAG DEVICE FOR SIDE COLLISION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3385891
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve work efficiency for fitting a sensor by forming an embossed part in a reinforcement in a center pillar, fitting a sensor of an air bag device to a weld nut provided in the embossed part, and inserting a projecting piece provided on the sensor in a temporary stop hole provided in the embossed part.
SOLUTION: A center pillar 1 is formed by joining a pillar outer 2 and a pillar inner 3 to each other, an opening part 10 is formed near the lower end part of the pillar inner 3, and a base plate 15 is fitted to the opening part 10. In this case, a temporary stop hole 21 is formed in an embossed part 5 in the center pillar 1, and two weld nuts 22 are provided below the temporary stop hole 21. A sensor 20 of an air bag device for side collision is installed on the embossed part 5. At the time of installation, a bent part 24a of a projecting piece 24 projected on a fitting part 20b is inserted in the temporary stop hole 21 to temporarily stop the sensor, and after that, a bolt is inserted in the fitting hole of the sensor 20 to be fastened to a weld nut 22. Thus, the installation of the weld nut 22 is completed.
