Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain pure blood components into which other components are not included by sucking an upper layer by a blood transfer tube connected to the top end 6f a blood bag, discharging this layer to the outside of the blood bag and discharging a lower layer to the outside of the blood bag by a blood transfer tube connected to the bottom end of the blood bag.
CONSTITUTION: A negative pressure is maintained in the space in a container 7 housing a blood component separating bag 3 by operating a suction pump P. Then, the upper layer is introduced into the blood component separating bag 3 through the blood transfer tube 2 and the wall surface of the bag constituting the blood bag 1 shrinks to the inner side simultaneously with the start of suction. Only the upper layer of a low viscosity is then drawn into the blood component separating bag 3. On the other hand, the intermediate layer of a high viscosity remains by sticking to the wall surface of the bag constituting the blood bag 1 in the state of a laminar form without disturbing the shape. The lower layer is then drawn into the blood component separating bag 5 through the blood transfer tube 4. As a result, the upper layer is separated without applying a useless external pressure on the separated intermediate layer.
