Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make it possible to recover an eluent in a high concentration and economically carry out separation of a rare earth element, by recovering the eluent using a strong acidic cation exchange resin in separating the rare earth element with a hydroxy acid as the eluent using an ion exchanger.
CONSTITUTION: A rare earth element is separated with an ion exchanger using a hydroxy acid as an eluent. In the process, a strong acidic cation exchange resin is used to recover the eluent. The hydroxy acid as the eluent can be efficiently recovered and the eluent can be circulated for use.
