Abstract:
To reduce the burden on the management of font metrics files that should be supplied to each data processing unit even if the format of font metrics for a printer driver used in each data processing unit varies.
When a font file except for a printer font is downloaded to any one of plural printers by this server device, as the feature of its constitution, it determines (S3602) the format of the font metrics used by the printer driver for the print control that each data processing unit performs for each printer, and, depending on the determined format of the font metrics, generates (S3610, S3606) different pieces of font metrics information.
