To provide a server for controlling a paper collecting system using a self-propelled paper collecting device for collecting paper while eliminating labor for a user to get the paper output from an image forming device which a plurality of users use in common.
The server controls the paper collecting system using the paper collecting device for collecting paper output from the image forming device. It comprises a first detecting means for detecting the condition/status of the image forming device regarding paper discharge, a second detecting means for detecting the condition/status of the self-propelled paper collecting device, and a control means for controlling the image forming device and/or the self-propelled paper collecting device in accordance with results detected by the first and second detecting means.
