Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new color reproduction technology wherein all the element technologies (major element technologies in the manufacture of a color printed matter) which can guarantee the color reproducibility (color consistency) at a high level in advance, i.e., in the previous stage (stage of a plate-making design) of a plate making are theorized and integrated, in the manufacture of a four color (C/M/Y/BK) dot printed image.
SOLUTION: By utilizing R, G, B based image information (xc, xM, xY) of a color original, an inking process (GCR, UCR, UCA) and a correcting process of dot gains(DG) (including ODG and MDG) are performed under a specified theoretical formula. At the same time, a proportional compressing process, a gray balance process and a masking (color correction) process for other gradations are performed under a specified theoretical formula. Thus, a dot area ratio (c, m, y, bk) for respective color plates (C, M, Y, BK plates), by which the four color dot printed image being excellent in the color reproducibility of the color original can be manufactured, is set.
