Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a labor and a time required for payment by electronic cash and charge of an electronic money balance.SOLUTION: A payment device of an embodiment comprises: determination means; reading means; raising means; and payment means. The determination means determines a payment method according to an operation performed by an operator. The reading means reads information stored in a storage medium which a payment person possesses. The raising means raises a balance of electronic cash which is identified by the information read by the reading means, when the electronic cash is determined as the payment method by the determination means, and an operator instructs to raise the balance of the electronic cash. The payment means deducts the payment amount from the balance raised by the raising means without performing a determination of the payment method by the determination means again, after the balance is raised by the raising means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
