To prevent a sewing failure, a sewing crease or the like when the edges of two pieces of cloth are sewed together side by side by a zigzag-stitch sewing machine, by enabling a sewing machine to sew while pulling inward or stretching outward the two pieces of the cloth when the pieces are fed.
A sewing machine has a throat plate having a pinhole as a needle location point, a cloth press which presses an item to be sewed placed on the throat plate downwardly, a cloth feed dog which carries out the four movements interlocking with a main axis and feeds an item to be sewed working together with the cloth press. The upper face of the cloth feed dog has two or more edges which are symmetrical to the line going through the center of the needle location point of the sewing machine and have a V or its upside down shape toward the cloth feeding direction.
