Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the contact and wear between a ring body and a sealed ring by increasing the diameter of a narrow passage which is set up at the sealed ring engatement of the ring body which is fixed on the outer surface of a shaft more than that of the outer surface of the narrow passage which is set up at the sealed ring end. CONSTITUTION:The ring body 4 is fixed on the shaft 3 and the sealed ring 5 is engaged on the outer surface of the ring body 4. The narrow passage 6 is set up between them and the narrow passage 9 is set up between the sealed rings 5 and 2. The relationship between the diameter D9 on the outer surface of the narrow passage 9 and that D4 on the inner surface of the narrow passage 6 is D9<=D4. When the shaft 3 rotates, part of the high pressure fluid in the housing 1 passes through the narrow passage 6. This permits wedging to occur at the passage 6 by the sealed ring 5 and prevents the sealed ring 5 from making contact with the ring body 4. The fluid flowing out from the passage 6 loses its energy and the sealed ring 5 moves, thereby automatically constituting the narrow passage 9 and preventing the sealed ring 5 from making contact with the sealed ring 2.
