PURPOSE: A shampoo composition having improved conditioning effect and improved luster providing effects on the hair, obtained by blending a shampoo composition with a specific branched fatty acid cholesteryl ester.

CONSTITUTION: A shampoo composition is blended with 0.1W10.0wt%, especially preferably 0.2W2wt% based on the total composition of a branched fatty acid cholesteryl ester shown by the formula (R is 11W23C, preferably 13W19C, espe cially 17C saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group containing at least one alkyl- substituent group between a carboxyl bond position and the center of a main chain) as a conditioning agent, to give a shampoo composition which can provides the skin with a naturally finishing effect after washing by its condition ing effect and luster providing effect on the hair.
