SHAPE CONTROL METHOD FOR ROLLED STOCK IN CONTINUOUS ROUGH ROLLING

Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simultaneously control a shape and distribution of a rolled stock to eliminate a bending and drawing and to improve a yield rate by biassed rolling reduction controlling based on measured values of the top end plane shape in the width direction and the plate thickness distribution of the rolled stock at the outlet side of a continuous rough rolling mill.

CONSTITUTION: The top end plane shape in width W direction of the rolled stock 1 at the outlet side of the continuous rough rolling mill 2 is measured by a planar recognition device 3, its max. elongation amount EOP of a working side and max. elongation amount EDr of driving side are derived by an arithmetic unit 6, and its difference value EOP-EDr/W=E is quantified. The plate thickness is measured by a thickness gauge 4, a plate thickness TOP at operating side and a plate thickness TDr at driving side are derived by the arithmetic unit 6, its difference value TOP-TDr/W=T is quantified. Then, by a graphic control instruction of a control device 7, a biased rolling reduction is performed on the preceding stand 8 to make the difference of the plate shapes E to be a zero target, succeedingly by the biased rolling reduction on the latter stand 9 for a thin plate thickness to make the difference of the plate thicknesses to be a zero target. In repeating this operation, the shape is made excellent, bending and drawing of the rolling material on succeeding finish rolling are eliminated and the yield and quality are drastically improved.
