PURPOSE: To enable highly accurate measurement of a local deformation such as very small quantity of deformation and dislocation existing in a steel construction or the like at the start of building it, measurement in a wide range even when a measuring surface of an object to be measured is located at a narrow place and measurement in safety when the measuring surface is located at a high place along with no damage to the measuring surface in a non-contact manner.
CONSTITUTION: A distance measuring sensor 1 is moved in the direction of X axis with a sensor moving device along a measuring surface 10a to measure a moving distance in the direction of X axis with a moving range finder 3 provided on the distance measuring sensor 1. While the measuring surface 10a is irradiated with light A with a specified wavelength from the distance measuring sensor 1, the reflected light B reflected from the measuring surface is received with the distance measuring sensor 1 to measure the distance in the direction of Y axis between the distance measuring sensor 1 and the measuring surface 10a. Then, an X axis wise data D and a Y axis wise data C are sent to a data processor 7 where the data are processed to obtain a local deformation profile (shape of cross section) data.
