PURPOSE: To improve safety and place shape steel correctly on a conveyor or a table by preventing rolling or pitching at the time of conveying the shape steel.

CONSTITUTION: A machining line is provided to transfer long shape steel longitudinally by a conveyor 2 so as to perform specified machining by a machine tool, and a conveyor device 3 is provided to carry the shape steel W in and out of the conveyor 2, between the transfer starting edge side and transfer terminal side of the conveyor 2. Plural jibs 8 traversing above the conveyor 2 are provided in the extended direction of the conveyor 2, and a cross feeding device 11 is provided to move a horizontal beam 10 sideways on the jibs 8. A lifting beam extended in the extended direction of the conveyor 2 is disposed below the horizontal beam 10, and the lower face of the lifting beam is provided with electromagnetic attractors 30 at the specified pitch.
