PURPOSE: To provide a shaver which does not damage the skin by forming an opposite member in a plate shape and connecting the opposite member to a driving mechanism through a rod mechanism.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of rotationally driving a shaft 9 and a disk 10 in the direction of an arrow P by a motor 5, the end part 4 of the opposite member 3 plots a closed passage 7 every time of the rotation of the shaft 9. A beard 18 projected from the skin 19 to be shaven is pressurized to the cutting end edge 20 of a cutting part 2 by a beard catching end 4 and cut. As the result of driving the opposite member 3 by the rod mechanism formed by an arm 12 and a connection arm 15, the beard catching end is not brought into contact with the skin, and even when it is brought into contact, the beard catching end plots a passage to be in contact only for partial extremely short time like the passage 17. Further, since the opposite member is in the plate shape, an area to be in contact with the skin is reduced. As a result, the danger of clamping the skin between the cutting member 2 and the opposite member 3 is substantially reduced.
