Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet discharge apparatus capable of temporarily staying a sheet in the apparatus before discharging it from a discharge port, having no risk of creasing or folding the sheet during staying, and having no limit upon the kind and length of the sheet to be stored.
SOLUTION: This sheet discharge apparatus is provided with a first transport path 31 for guiding a sheet from the carry-in side 16 between a driving roller 2 and a driven roller 3, a second transport path 32 having the start end joining the first transport path 31 in a region nearer to the carry-in side than the driving roller 2 and the terminal end connected to a carry-out port 17, sheet keeping space 8 provided on the opposite side to the carry-in side 16 with a contact portion P1 between the driving roller 2 and the driven roller 3 sandwiched, and a third transport path 33 for guiding the sheet 60 from the contact portion P1 between the driving roller 2 and the driven roller 3 to the sheet keeping space 8. In the apparatus, the sheet 60 is carried from the carry-in side to the sheet keeping space 8, and after the trailing end of the carried-in sheet 60 passes a joining point P2 of the first transport path 31 and the second transport path 32, the direction of feeding the sheet 60 is reverse to feed the sheet 60 to the discharge port 17.
