The sheet material holder includes: a longitudinal substrate; a container-shaped cover mounted on the substrate to cover the surface of the substrate; and a ball stored in the cover to vertically move along the substrate. The bottom plate of the cover is formed as a tilted plate to be closer to the substrate side at the lower side. A slit-shaped clearance to insert a sheet material in the cover is formed between the lower end or the lateral edge of the cover and the substrate.
