To provide a shift lever device the component parts of which can be reduced in number, and which can move a shift cable smoothly.
In the device, a lever body 16 is provided integrally with a shift lever 15, and the shift lever 15 and the shift cable 75 are directly connected to each other. Accordingly, it is not necessary to provide a control lever in a shift box 100 as in the prior art, so that the number of the component parts can be reduced and the shift lever device 10 can be miniaturized as a whole. Further, since the shift lever 15 and the shift cable 75 are connected by means of a ball pivot 80, it is possible to respond to three-dimensional motion. Even when moving the shift lever 15 in either of the shift direction and the select direction, the shift cable 75 can be swung around the desired center of the swinging movement.
