Abstract:
To enable easy replacement work of a shim which is inserted between a cam on the camshaft and a valve lifter top relative for an intake or exhaust valve.
An engaging portion 11 is provided at a bearing portion 4 for a camshaft 2 or a cylinder head 1. Between this engaging portion 11 and a valve lifter 8, a spacer 19 is mounted so that an upper end of the spacer is detachably engaged with the engaging portion, and a lower end of the spacer detachably abuts the valve lifter top at a position outside of the shim.
