PURPOSE: To efficiently handle cargoes without cagoes being wet with rain, by arranging an overhead travelling crane in a hold.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided in a hold 3a an overhead travelling crane 10a which comprises travelling vehicle 7 and a traversing vehicle 8a, a travelling vehicle 7a being carried by a plurality of travelling rails 9 extending from the bow side to the stern side of a hull 1. Meanwhile, the vehicle 8a is carried by traversing rails 12 which are carried by the travelling vehicle 7a in such a way that the traversing rails 12a are attached to the lower surface of the travelling vehicle 7a, transversely of the rails 9. Further, the vehicle 8a is provided in the lower section thereof with a cargo catching device 13a which may be elevated and lowered by winding and unwinding a wire 15 with the use of a winch arranged on the vehicle 7a. The rails 12a in part are also laid on the lower section of a turntable 22a so that the rails 12a are rotatable together with the turntable 22a.
