To provide a shoe protecting mechanism for a stroboscope removing a shoe part of the stroboscope when in use with a simple structure while mounting the shoe part when not in use, surely protecting the shoe part from some kind of impact at low cost and free from inconvenience in connecting the shoe part to a camera.

The shoe protecting mechanism for the stroboscope composed of a power supply supplying electric power if necessary, comprising a battery, a microcomputer, a booster circuit, an interface circuit, etc., and a head carrying out light emission, comprising a capacitor, a reflecting mirror, a discharge tube, etc. includes the stroboscope shoe part structured to be connected to a camera side shoe receiving part of a camera, and a cover structured to cover the shoe part and detachably mounted to a case of the stroboscope.
