Abstract:
To provide a novel silane coupling agent, a substrate and a liquid crystal device exhibiting high display performances.
The silane coupling agent has a site having negative dielectric anisotropy. The substrate has the silane coupling agent fixed thereto by a covalent bond. The liquid crystal device comprises the substrate and a liquid crystal layer supported by the substrate.
