Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the silver halide photographic sensitive material high in sensitivity and small in residual dye stain and fog by incorporating a specified compound and a specified silver halide emulsion in at least one of emulsion layers.
CONSTITUTION: At least one of the silver halide emulsion layers contains the silver halide emulsion chemically sensitized in the presence of a polysulfide compound and at least one of the compounds represented by formulae I and II and the like in which each of at least 2 of R1-R5 and at least 2 of R11-R16 have water-soluble groups and each of the other groups is H, an optionally substituted alkyl, such as methyl, ethyl, or propyl, or optionally substituted alkenyl, or optionally substituted aryl; and each of R6, R7, R17, and R18 is H, hydroxy, a halogen, alkyl, such as methyl, ethyl, or propyl, or the like.
