Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a photographic sensitive material high in sensitivity and small in residual dye stains after development processing, in change of performance in the case of applying pressure to the photosensitive material and in change of performance due to its exposure before and after its storage.

CONSTITUTION: This photosensitive material have on its support at least one silver halide emulsion layer and this layer contains a silver halide emulsion chemically sensitized by using at least one kind of selenium sensitizer and spectrally sensitized by using a benzimidazolocarbocyanine having a polarographic half-wave oxidation potential of nobler than 0.7VvsSCE and baser than 1.1VvsSCE.
