PURPOSE: To improve the durability of a magenta color image by incorporating a specified magenta coupler in combination with a specified compd. in the titled material.

CONSTITUTION: The titled material contains one or more of magenta couplers shown by formula I and one or more of compds. shown by formula II which are the stabilizer of the magenta color image. In the formulas, Z is a nonmetal atomic group necessary for forming a heterocyclic ring contg. a nitrogen atom., X is hydrogen atom. or a substituent group capable of releasing by reacting with the oxidant of a color developing main agent, R is H atom. or a substituent group, R3 and R4 are each H atom. or alkyl group, etc. The coupler shown by formula I and the compd. shown by formula II are incorporated in the same layer or its adjacent layer, and the phenolic type or the phenylether type stabilizer may be used wit said coupler and the compd. Thus, the discoloration and the decoloration of the titled material due to a light are suppressed, and the color image having less tendency for generating a Y-stain is formed.
