Abstract:
To provide a method for simultaneously executing metal refining and asbestos disposal safely and at a low cost.
The method is for refining a metal raw material 4 of pig iron or alloy iron and processing asbestos-including waste in an electric furnace 1 at the same time. The method is characterized by sealing the asbestos-including waste and loading the sealed asbestos-including waste into the electric furnace 1, and suppressing scattering of asbestos to the outside of the furnace by setting the atmosphere within the electric furnace 1 under a negative pressure relative to the atmosphere outside the furnace when the asbestos-including waste is loaded.
