PURPOSE: To simultaneously record video/audio signals and digital data by converting digital data into an audio band signal and recording it by a modem.

CONSTITUTION: Signal processing are performed for the video signal from a camera 2 and the audio signal from a microphone 4 in a video input part 6 and a voice input part 7, respectively. A video tape recorder part 20 records the processed video signal in the video recording area of a video tape and records the processed voice signal in one of the stereo sound recording areas of the tape. The character data, numerical data and digitized data inputted from a keyboard 14 or a data transmitter 15 via a transmission input part 15 is inputted in a CPU 12. The digital data inputted in the CPU 12 is transferred to a modem 19 and the data is converted into an audio band signal. The digital data of the converted audio band signal is inputted in the recorder part 20 and the data is recorded in the other of the stereo sound recording part of the tape. Therefore, the simultaneous recording of video/audio signals and digital data can be performed.
