Abstract:
To obtain a skeleton member for a vehicle, which is able to hinder breakage of a side on which tensile stress is applied during bending deformation, while ensuring the entire rigidity and strength.SOLUTION: A bumper reinforcement 10 comprises: a body portion 16 having a closed cross-sectional structure formed by: a rear wall part 16A on which compression stress is applied if bending deformation is caused; a front wall part 16B disposed opposite the rear wall part 16A and on which tensile stress is applied if bending deformation is caused; and an upper wall part 16C and a lower wall part 16D coupling respective one ends of the rear wall part 16A and the front wall part 16B and respective the other ends thereof; and a rib portion 18 provided in the closed cross-section of the body portion 16, uniformly extended from one end to the other end, in a longitudinal direction, of the body portion 16 and mutually coupling the rear wall part 16A, the upper wall part 16C, and the lower wall part 16D.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
