PURPOSE: To improve the service life of the skid button for supporting steel products to be heated in a heating furnace by constituting the skid button of a base plate member welded to a skid pipe and a button top member made of a sintered body which is held on this member and consists of a heat resistant material.

CONSTITUTION: The skid beam which supports and moves the steel products S in the heating furnace for steel products is constituted of the water cooled skid pipe P and the skid button for supporting the steel products S welded to the surface thereof. This skid button is formed of the base plate member 10 fixed by welding W1 to the surface of the skid pipe P and the button peak member 20 to be imposed with the steel products S held thereon. This button peak member 20 made of the sintered body block of a Cr-Fe alloy contg. 50 to 95% Cr or the heat resistant sintered body block consisting of the Cr-Fe alloy and the ceramics particles. In addition, a high thermally conductive core block 14 in tight contact with the skid pipe P is mounted apart a spacing G at the lower part thereof. A monolithic refractory layer 40 for heat insulation is provided on the outer side of the skid button exclusive of the top member 20.
