Abstract:

To provide a cosmetic which has an excellent skin-protecting action and can also control an irritative touch frequently given by a powdery material or the like.

This cosmetic is characterized by containing (1) a silk-originated water-soluble protein and/or its analogue and (2) one or more alcohols selected from the following polyhydric alcohols: 1,3-butanediol, 1,2-pentanediol, isopropylene glycol, dipropylene glycol, diglycerol, 2-amino-2- methyl-1,3-propanediol, 2-amino-1,3-propanediol, sorbitol, maltitol, and polyglycerol having a condensation degree of ≥3.
