Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a laser device, wherein the beam spread angle is small even if a plurality of laser media are used in the resonator of a laser and to provide a device, which can perform laser machining having high flexibility at a high speed for refractory material and the like.

CONSTITUTION: A slab 4a and a slab 4b are inserted into a resonator in the directions so that the respective width directions cross at a right angle. A beam shaper 5a, a 1/2-wavelength plate 6 and a beam shaper 5b are inserted between the slabs. Therefore, the spread angle of the laser light, which is taken out, is decreased to about 1/10 in comparison with a conventional slab laser. With this reason, the optical fiber having the small core diameter can be utilized. Laser machining having the high flexibility can be performed at a high speed for refractory material and the like.
