To prevent damage of a low-hardness metal layer by reducing thermal stress generated in a bearing body during the operation of a rotary electric machine.
In this slide bearing, the low-hardness metal layer 2 is formed on the inner peripheral surface of a back plate 1, and an eccentricity increasing groove 4 is provided on the inner peripheral surface of the low-hardness metal layer 2. An axial piercing clearance 7 is provided in the boundary part between the low-hardness metal layer 2 and the back plate 1 corresponding to the circumferential position of the low-hardness metal layer 2 which becomes high temperatures, and a hole for guiding some of lubricating oil flowing through the eccentricity increasing groove 4 to the interior of the clearance 7 is provided between the bottom of the eccentricity increasing groove 4 and the clearance 7.
