This sliding bearing has an upper shoe 1 capable of being attached to a lower face side of a superstructure body, a lower shoe 2 capable of being attached to an upper face side of a substructure body, and an elastic body 3 provided in the vertical direction between the upper shoe 1 and the lower shoe 2. The upper shoe 1 is constituted as a sliding mechanism 6 having an upper side member 4 and a lower side member 5 sliding and moving freely in specific directions in the horizontal direction for each other.
