PURPOSE: To make it possible to produce smoke from the whole smoking substances, by bringing conduction rods for decomposing into contact with the substances in the smoke-producing vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The smoke-producing vessel 3 is a bottomed cylinder, and comprises one or plural conduction rods 4 from the bottom upward. The materials 8 to be smoked are placed on the rack in the chamber 6, and the smoking substances 2, e.g. wood chips, are brought into contact with the rods 4. The heat source 18 immediately under the vessel 3 is turned on to heat the vessel 3. The substances 2 are thus decomposed to produce smoke. Part of the heat obtained from the source 18 flows through the rods 4 to decompose the substances 2 in the upper layer, and constant amount of smoke can be produced for a long time.
