A socket contact 10 is structured so that the axis of the contacting part 18 is dislocated by bending a coupling part 20 in the direction across the plate thickness and is formed through such processes as punching off a strip of metal plate into the shape of socket contact 10, subjecting two parallel laid contacting pieces 19 of the socket contact 10, having undergone a blank punch-off process to a box-bending process in the direction toward the inside, and subjecting the coupling part 20 of the obtained two contacting pieces 19 arranged parallel to a bending process in a direction across the plate thickness, in a sequence of first, second, and third processes.
