Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for electrical components for reducing operation force, reducing the stroke of a handling member (operation member), and suppressing shock to the electrical components, and reducing inspection time, or the like.
SOLUTION: In a drive means for moving a press member 16 from the press position of an IC package 12 to a retraction position when the operation member 17 is moved up and down, a rack section 17c having a plurality of rack side gear sections 17d, 17e is formed on the operation member 17 along the upper and lower directions, and a plurality of follower gear sections 22a, 22b that mate with the rack side gear sections 17d, 17e are provided. Then, in the plurality of follower gear sections 22a, 22b, the distance from each rotation center to the pitch circle differs. When the operation member 17 is located at the side of the press position, the follower gear section 22a, where the distance from the rotation center to the pitch circuit is longer, mates with the rack side gear section 17d.
