Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable the easy insertion of even a curved implement into the celoms, to minimize a tube diameter and to lessen attack on a patient by reinforcing the main part of at least the tubular part of the trochar tube having the soft tubular part with a reinforcing material having elasticity.
CONSTITUTION: The soft part 13 of the soft trochar tube 13 consists of a stretchable material, such as silicone rubber, having good bioaffinity and the reinforcing material 14 consists of a tubular braid formed by braiding wires having elasticity and is embedded into the trochar tube 13. The wires are made of materials having elasticity including metallic materials, such as stainless steel wires and piano wires, synthetic resins consisting of polyethylene resins, polypropylene resins, etc. The standard sections thereof is circular and elliptical; square, rectangular and other shapes are equally well. The tubular braid is most preferably formed by braiding. Such tube has high tube strength and withstands considerable curving without collapse.
