PURPOSE: To prevent a biological membrane filter layer from getting clogged, keep the adhesion and adsorption of microbes and organic substances in a good condition and enhance treatment capability, by backflowing treated water in a treated water tank periodically, passing a biological membrane filter layer with upward flow and removing collected organic substances from said filter layer.
CONSTITUTION: Treated water stored in a treated water tank T is backflowed in a pipe 47 by actuating a backwash pump 53 and fed up from the bottom section of a reaction tank S, passing through a biological membrane filter layer 45. Activates sludge and the like adhered and collected to the biological membrane filter layer 45 are removed together with the foams blown out of an aeration blower 35 through an aeration.backwashing pipe 37 by said upward flow and floated in backwashing waste water. Said floating activated sludge and others are returned to a raw water tank R1 together with the treated water through a pipe 31, and the precipitates are removed from said raw water tank R1.
