PURPOSE: The titled composition for soil application occluding a relatively large amount of methylisothiocyanate(MITC), keeping it stably, releasing it in soil easily, obtained by supporting MITC on synthetic mordenite having pores with specific pore diameters.
CONSTITUTION: Synthetic mordenite having pores with about 7 pore diameter is heat-treated at 100W700°C, preferably at 200W500°C for 1W10hr, dehydrated, dried, and brought into contact with MITC in a liquid state, so that 0.05W 0.5pt.wt., preferably 0.1W0.4pt.wt. MITC is occluded in 1pt.wt. synthetic mordenite. Occluded MITC in the composition will not be distilled away during storage or application, but, when it is applied to soil, the whole amount of it is diffused in 24hr, and effective for destroying various kinds of nematodes living in soil, being parasitic in the underground part of roots, tubers, etc. of plants, and nematodes penetrating from soil into plants, being parasitic in the terrestrial part of leaves, flowers, stalks, etc.
