Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a solid catalyst high in carbonylation reaction activity, excellent in durability and wear resistance and having long catalytic life and the producing method for acetic acid using the same.

CONSTITUTION: In the solid catalyst for carbonylation reaction made of a vinyl pyridine based resin having a porous cross-linking structure made by depositing a rhodium complex, the vinyl pyridine based resin has 30-60% cross-linking degree, 0.2-0.4cc/g narrow pore volume and 20-100nm average narrow pore diameter. In the method for producing acetic acid by allowing methanol to react with carbon monoxide in a reaction solvent with the solid catalyst for carbonylation reaction in the presence of an alkyl iodide, the solid catalyst is used as the catalyst for carbonylation reaction.
