Abstract:

To provide a solid polymer electrolyte membrane capable of suppressing deterioration of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane, and also suppressing increase in material cost and decrease in proton conductivity.

The solid polymer electrolyte membrane 10 has a platinum carrying portion 100 formed by carrying platinum in the vicinity of a fuel electrode side catalyst layer 20a or in the vicinity of an oxidant electrode side catalyst layer 20c. Or, the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 10 has a platinum arranging portion 110 formed by carrying platinum on the surface of the fuel electrode side catalyst layer 20a or on the surface of the oxidant electrode catalyst layer 20c.
