To provide a gas diffusion electrode for a solid polymer type fuel cell in which a gaseous diffusion nature is good, which is easy to assure an electrical contact and has a smooth front surface, and a method of manufacturing it; and to provide a solid polymer type fuel cell using it.
The gas diffusion electrode for the solid polymer type fuel cell is formed by laminating a porous membrane made of a fluororesin containing a carbon material and a conductive porous material through an adhesive layer. Further, the method of manufacturing the electrode, and the fuel cell using this gas diffusion electrode, are provided. The fluororesin is a fluorinated olefin resin, it is desirable that the carbon material is a carbon black, or especially, is an acetylene black.
